SAFTEY NOTES |
|
NOTE 1.......SPRING CLIPS are designed for ONE TIME use only! A previously torqued spring clip will suffer from distorted (stretched) threads from the engagement of the special tall nuts. Loose or broken spring clips could allow the axle to shift out of line and could cause a sudden loss of control of the vehicle. This could result in serious personal injury or death. |

NOTE 2.......Spring Clip TALL NUTS and SPLIT LOCKWASHERS are designed for ONE TIME use only! Do not over torque these nuts, meaning don't ever use an impact wrench! The typical standard torque for these nuts is 45-55 Lb-Ft as indicated on a hand held professional quality torque wrench. The thick wide flat washers that are included with many of the offshore sourced spring clips were never used on any Willys Jeep vehicle. The original grade 8 split type lock washers are designed to "bite" into the spring plate and tall nut to achieve the locking effect. |
