33-02 WHEEL JACKS AND WHEEL NUT WRENCHES

The A-1240 ratcheting screw type 1 1/2-ton jack was part of the basic vehicle tool kit on all 1/4-ton Jeep vehicles to include the military MB/GPW/M38/M38A1 and M170. This jack was also issued to the civilian Jeeps to include the CJ-2A/CJ-3A/CJ-3B/CJ-5 and CJ-6. The jack and wrench are designed to fit in the tool compartments of all of these vehicles. The top of the jack has a saddle-cut seat to safely raise the vehicle from the axle tubes or under the leaf spring plates. The jack has a simple pull and twist lever to control the up or down function. The operating ends of the A-348 and 645609 wheel nut wrenchs fit into the side of the jack and turn the racheting mechanism for up or down function. The jack when fully raised is 15 1/2" tall and lowers to a compact 6 3/4". The A-348 wheel nut wrench is for use with 3/4" wheel nuts. The 645609 wheel nut wrench is for use with 13/16" wheel nuts.

| The 909969 double screw type wheel jack was part of the basic vehicle tool kit on all of the Utility Wagons, Utility Trucks and Jeepsters as well as thr Forward Control Trucks. The original front bumpers on all of these vehicles and the rear bumpers on the wagons and Jeepsters were not designed to use a standard bumper jack as the bumper arms were not designed to take the weight of the vehicle. The double screw type jack lifts the vehicle axle from under the leaf spring plate. These NOS jacks include the folding jack handle and the complete unit fits inside the under seat tool compartment on the Wagons and Trucks and in the rear cab tool compartment on the Forward Control Trucks. |
